Epic Movie Sets That Were Actually Miniature Models

Ever wondered how Hollywood could re-scape an entire city? Many movies are not, in fact, filmed on lifesize sets, but actually on miniature, sometimes table-sized Movie Sets.

#5 The Fifth Element – 1997

If you haven’t watched, “The Fifth Element”, you will not be able to appreciate this masterpiece of a miniature movie set that depicts the scene where Leeloo comes crashing into Korben’s flying cab, resulting in the most incredible chaos and destruction! This is a real cliffhanger of a scene with racing and flying cabs, policemen shooting and machine cannons.

Watching this scene, you would be mightily impressed by the acrobatic , shooting, driving and general fitness and flexibility skills of the actors! Again, the directors in, “The Fifth Element” decided it was too risky to film on a life size set and, sadly, it is just a combination of mini plastic cars driving around!
