Many people do not know this, but should a massive environmental disaster occur that wipes out all our vegetation, we are covered! We would be able to replant each and every type of plant, fruit and vegetable thanks to the Svalbard Seed Vault which contains their seeds.
Don’t think of helping yourself to these seeds, though, because this vault is highly secure and is not open to the public. In fact, it is situated between Norway and the North Pole, within a mountain on a very remote island which forms part of the Svalbard archipelago.
